Bio X Cell: In-vivo antibodies used for drug discovery research
The journey from basic discoveries to clinical applications is often hampered by issues of reproducibility, predictability, and clinical relevance. Building robust in vitro and in vivo studies is essential for validating preclinical findings and ensuring their successful translation.
LAB-A-PORTER is committed to facilitating this by providing researchers globally with suitable reagents and tools. We support researchers on their preclinical research, from discovering drug targets and biomarkers to developing and testing in advanced in vitro and animal models, ultimately helping bridge the gap to clinical success.
In the following weeks, LAB-A-PORTER is going to showcase a series of products that have been highlighted in our booth at ISSCR 2025 Hong Kong, including tools for disease modelling, drug discovery, cell and gene therapy research and tissue engineering research.
This week, we are going to introduce one of our trusted supplier, Bio X Cell, and their quality in vivo antibodies used in drug discovery.
Bio X Cell: In vivo antibodies for cell-specific deletion studies in drug discovery
Bio X Cell offers a range of monoclonal antibodies to mouse cell surface proteins for in vivo cell-specific depletion studies. In vivo cell-specific depletion experiments are widely used to establish the role of a specific cell type in a variety of immunological processes and diseases.
These antibodies are reported for use in in vivo studies where the injected depletion antibody is intended to deplete a specific cell type. These types of experiments are useful to extend and confirm results obtained with genetic knock-out mouse strains or to provide information about the direct biological relevance of a certain cell type. These antibodies mediate cell depletion through multiple mechanisms including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP).

While the targeted depletion of specific cell populations elucidates their functional roles, a comprehensive understanding of the immune system also necessitates the characterization of the signalling molecules, namely cytokines and chemokines, that mediate intercellular communication.
Bio X Cell: In vivo antibodies for cytokines and chemokines analysis in drug discovery
Cytokines and chemokines are small, secreted proteins direct the development, maturation, an activation and life span of immune cells. While cytokines promote pro- and anti-inflammatory activities, chemokines regulate the trafficking of immune cells. Analysing cytokines and chemokines, and their biological pathways, is key for unmasking the mysteries of the immune system that can drive the development of diagnostics and therapeutics. Antibodies that neutralize the biological activity of these proteins with high specificity in bioassays are invaluable for understanding their function.
