The hydrogel is ready to mix with cell suspension directly. There is no additional adjustment needed. For many users, this is the preferred hydrogel for 3D cell culture and 2D coating.

VitroGel High Concentration Hydrogels offer a set of building blocks to create a functional micro-environment that closely mimics the natural extracellular matrix (ECM) for cells to feel like at home. The high concentration formulation allows the maximum flexibility to manipulate the mechanical strength of hydrogel from 10 to 4000 Pa. The hydrogels come with several types of functional ligand modifications such as RGD (VitroGel RGD), Collagen (VitroGel COL), Laminin (VitroGel IKVAV & VitroGel YIGSR) and MMP (VitroGel MMP). The system allows scientists to investigate the cell behaviors in response to an individual functional ligand or create multi-functional hydrogel combinations by blending different versions of VitroGel.

EASY CELL RECOVERY FROM HYDROGEL SYSTEM
As easy as it is to perform 3D or 2D cell culture with VitroGel, it is even easier to harvest cells out from the hydrogel system with the VitroGel® Cell Recovery Solution. This enzyme-free solution has a neutral pH and works at 37°C operating temperature. With a simple rocking and incubation process, cells cultured in 3D or 2D coating VitroGel can be harvested in 10-20 minutes while maintaining high cell viability.

AN INJECTABLE HYDROGEL FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS
VitroGel hydrogel system has a unique shear-thinning and rapid recovery rheological property. Under the mechanical shearing force such as injection through a syringe, the hydrogel performs a gel-sol transition and becomes free-flowing status. However, once the shearing force ceased, the mechanical strength of the hydrogel can rapidly recover with a sol-gel transition and become a hydrogel status again.
With this injectable property, VitroGel can be used for in vivo cells/drug delivery with great retention, bioprinting, droplet formation, and lab automation.
TUNABLE HYDROGEL STRENGTH
VitroGel® Dilution Solution is a ready-to-use solution use for mixing with the VitroGel system to adjust the hydrogel concentration for different hydrogel strength.
The solution is room temperature stable and neutral in pH, which maintains a good physiological condition for hydrogel formation. The VitroGel Dilution Solution can accelerate the hydrogel formation in combination with cell medium. The Dilution Solution can be used to prepare VitroGel thin gel coating plate or injectable hydrogel.
PERFORMANCE COMPARISON TO OTHER 3D CELL CULTURE METHODS
VitroGel comes in high concentration. Get more uses from one vial. One 10 mL vial can be used for 7 plates of 24-well plate if using dilution ratio at 1:3 which is the typical ratio for most cell types. Overall, cost per well is more than 50% lower compared to other basement membrane matrix.
